How is teeth whitening performed?
Tooth Whitening will allow the patient to get whiter teeth and remove the yellowish stains that are often caused by coffee, tobacco, red wine or by taking medication that cause the teeth to darken.
Este tratamiento no es abrasivo siempre y cuando se utilicen los productos correctos en su cantidad y concentración adecuada. De no ser así, puede producir un problema irreversible.
Whitening is performed in the same consultation by our doctors. This procedure usually lasts around an hour, where the patient at the end of this process will already notice significant changes. The doctors will send you a reinforcement treatment to do it at home, depending on the staining of the teeth.
What tips should I follow to keep my teeth white?
It is advisable that after having teeth whitening, you take care of your teeth and try to eliminate bad habits.
Brushing your teeth often will help maintain whitening.
Quitting smoking will also help you stop having yellow spots.
Reduce the consumption of beverages such as coffee or tea, and moderate the intake of foods high in dyes that produce stains on the teeth.
You have to try to have a clean mouth and keep it as healthy as possible, because if the patient undergoes teeth whitening and then does not take care of the denture, the teeth will probably darken again in a short time.
Composite Veneers
These Veneers are recommended in patients who need a slight correction in the denture, this does not imply grinding the tooth but polishing it lightly. There are times when composite veneers need to be placed after orthodontics, to improve the aesthetics of a tooth, or also when a piece is a different color from the rest, since composite veneers give a very natural look to the smile. They are usually placed in a single session, are made up of composite sheets, and consist of adding small layers of this material to the tooth, making its shape the same as the rest of the dental pieces.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers, on the other hand, should be used in patients who require transformations in their teeth, correct shapes or cover interdental spaces and these need to carve the tooth somewhat more. Unlike the composite ones, they are not performed in a single session, but after several examinations in the patient's mouth, a mold is made and sent to the laboratory, where they are custom made exclusively for each patient. They tend to be much more durable since their main material is porcelain, it also gives a totally natural and shiny appearance to the smile.

INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS
Frequent questions Dental Aesthetics
They are distinguished in the following:
Porcelain cheeks are designed in dental laboratories, they are fixed to the front of the teeth by means of a special resin coating the piece and offering a new appearance to the teeth of the patients.
Composite Veneers are a type of direct reconstruction that the dentist does on the damaged tooth. The dentist models modeling layer by layer by layering resins or composites.
It is not recommended, since the effect of teeth whitening occurs on natural enamel of the teeth and not in the material of the Veneers.
Patients with porcelain or composite veneers, if they want to maintain optimal dental aesthetics, should avoid breaking hard things with your mouth, biting certain objects and being more careful with your general oral health.
In addition, composite veneers can be easily repaired but, in the case of porcelain veneers, they require an overnight discharge certificate to protect the treatment.
It is a very common mistake to believe that this type of treatment is repeated continuously. Porcelain veneers actually last, on average, between 15-20 years without suffering wear or losing its color. Still, it will depend on the patient's habits (continued consumption of tobacco, coffee, tea ...).
It is generally carried out in one or two sessions of less than 4 hours. Composite veneers are a painless and non-invasive technique for teeth.
In short, dental veneers are a treatment of dental aesthetics consisting of fixing layers on top of a damaged tooth, as if it were false nails, to then outline each model and achieve optimal dental aesthetics. They may be porcelain or composite.
